On August 22, 2024, the Taiwan-Palau Ocean Science Education Center successfully held its first ocean science education event at the Rock Islands in Palau. The event was attended by 14 students and 3 teachers from Aimelik Elementary School, aiming to inspire the younger generation's interest and understanding of marine science through hands-on demonstrations and interactive experiences.

During the event, students engaged in various marine science activities, including using hydrological monitoring equipment and learning the basics of marine ecosystems. These practical experiences not only enhanced the students' awareness of the marine environment but also fostered a sense of responsibility toward ocean conservation.

"This is the first educational event since the establishment of the Taiwan-Palau Ocean Science Education Center. We hope to inspire students to explore and protect our ocean resources through such activities," said Professor Hung Ching-Chang, Director of the Center.

At the end of the event, the students enthusiastically shared their insights and expressed their hope for more opportunities to participate in similar science education activities in the future.

The success of this event not only marks the official launch of the Taiwan-Palau Ocean Science Education Center but also strengthens the collaboration between Taiwan and Palau in the field of marine science education, laying a solid foundation for future educational activities.
